The first European center for trenchless technologies development will be launched in Bulgaria

A globally unique European center for development of environmental technologies for trenchless pipeline rehabilitation will be established in Bulgaria. The Grant Contract was personally given by the Prime Minister, Mr. Borisov during an official ceremony on December 7th, 2012 in Sredets Hall in Hotel Sheraton, in the presence of the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, Delyan Dobrev.

A globally unique European center for development of environmental technologies for trenchless pipeline rehabilitation will be established in Bulgaria.

The technological center project was under grant scheme BG161PO003-1.2.03 “Establishment of new technology centers and strengthening of existing ones” and will be implemented with the financial support of Operational programme “Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy” 2007-2013, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund. 

The Grant Contract was personally given by the Prime Minister, Mr. Borisov during an official ceremony on December 7th, 2012 in Sredets Hall in Hotel Sheraton, in the presence of the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, Delyan Dobrev.  

Beneficiary of the project is “Technology center for new trenchless technology developments”, a partnership company under the Bulgarian Obligations and Contracts Act, members of which are Stroitelna Mehanizatsia AD, University of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy (UACG) and Kazanlak Municipalitiy, a leader of the partnership company is Stroitelna Mehanizatsia AD.

The conception is that the technology center will facilitate the access of the specialists in the water sector, like representatives of water supply and sewerage companies, municipalities, design engineers, companies and students to new knowledge and technologies and will stimulate application in practice of the results from the scientific researches. 

The center will be established at the territory of “Ivan Hadjienov” professional high-school in Kazanlak where specialists in machine construction are trained. This will allow the students of the high-school to have a direct access to trenchess technologies. 

It is expected that the newly established technology center will become a competitive and sustainable center for competence in the field of trenchless technologies and will provide practical skills to various specialists in the water sector.
